As a family with two girls, living in a place where the water is always calling, we spend most of our free time at the beach, pool, or anywhere we can splash around.

It all started during one unforgettable Christmas holiday.
Picture this: our youngest, fuelled by far too many slushies and sips of pool water, turned our relaxing getaway into a revolving trip to the little girls' room.
Every 10 minutes, we were pulling her long-sleeve swimsuit off in public bathrooms with increasingly questionable cleanliness.
The real challenge? Wrestling that cold, wet, inside-out swimsuit back on while she squirmed to return to the pool.
It was a frustrating (and slightly gross) ordeal that left us wondering—why isn’t there a better way?


And that’s how Mae Swimwear was born.
Mae stands for Mel (our oldest), Aiyla (our youngest), and Emma (our favourite child – because she’s a Cavoodle puppy who never gives us attitude;) )
Fun fact: “Mãe” also means “mother” in Portuguese, which felt perfect as half of our family is from Brazil.

We wanted swimsuits that solved our problem: convenient, sun-safe, and stylish. They had to be easy for parents and comfy for kids, while also protecting little ones from the harsh Australian sun. And, of course, they had to look good enough that the girls would actually want to wear them!
The result? A thoughtfully designed line of swimwear that’s all about making water adventures hassle-free and fun for everyone.
